With ten standing committees and multiple corresponding workgroups to participate in, NACWA members are encouraged to take an active role in Clean Water Advocacy. The Association’s active and diverse committee structure invites members to work collectively to shape national environmental policy. Standing committees help to develop the Association’s positions on environmental policy and legislation, in addition to working directly with EPA on the development and implementation of regulations and other initiatives.
Participation on standing committees offers the unique and truly rewarding experience of being on the “cutting edge” of national environmental initiatives and allows members to get targeted information on specific issues. Additionally, many of NACWA’s standing committees have formed workgroups to address issues in a more focused manner. Time commitment for these committees is manageable, with many of the groups meeting via conference call and/or twice a year at NACWA’s conferences.
